If we look back over the years in simple terms this is what happened. Russia backs Iran Nuclear Deal for years and has stopped even further sanctions and helped delaying the final deal for years. During the Syria Crisis, which Moscow sent it special forces within weeks of the beginning demonstrations and within days the Syrian massacres started. Killing the Syrian citizens in the streets. Then later when Syria used or did not use Chemical Weapons in Syria since the rebels weeks before showed pictures of them with chemical weapon missiles. We had the White House state a Red Line to Syria on use of Chemical Weapons.
For some reason the White House did not act, and take out the entire Syrian Army, Communications and bunkers. Saving countless Syrian people. Kerry says the red line was not crossed due to US political problems against. Then Moscow steps in and negotiates the removal of the Chemical Weapons which is a know fact Syria has had for years. Chemical and Biological weapons. Moscow saw a few steps ahead. Moscow new that eventually the United States of America and NATO and maybe even some in the Middle East region would have destroyed the then current Syrian Government and army. It would have been swift and it would have been done. Moscow new this is what would have eventually happened. So Russia stood up first to negotiate the removal of such weapons.
Then Russia has there Olympics in Sochi, and within days after invades Ukraine. Ukraine was about to sign a deal with the EU worth billions of dollars. Moving Ukraine further towards the West.
Then Russia goes to the 70th Anniversary of the United Nations in New York. Meets with World Leaders arrives 20 minutes late and finally toast's to President Obama's luncheon toast. As all World leaders sit down for lunch. He meets with President Obama and within days after I would say invades Syria, but since he had permission of President assad who by the way was probably hidden in Russia the entire time. So he moves the Russian might and military to Syria. They already had the naval base, but started setting up module buildings to support 2,000 troops. Then take over airbase and extends the runway. He moves in his most advanced fighter planes, with of course missile protection
for the billion worth of air force planes. He adds another air force military base. so know has 2 airforce military base plus the reason for the war Russia's only Mediterranean Naval Base.
By the time he sit up the first Air force base with missile protection. I came to the conclussion that Moscow now has a base in Syria just as the United States has a base in Germany after World War II.
I knew then not only do they have a base but they will enlarge the base and have every intention of staying there for sometime. To me Putin just won. He just won Syria, which I know call "Little Russia".
The thesis to this post is Moscow thinks 3 to 4 steps ahead of the United States. Maybe a President with a military background would be a good idea. Just a Putin was former military. So know we have a "Iran Nuclear Deal" with Iran in Syria and on November 21st 2015 violated the United Nations Security Council Resolution as well as the terms of the "Iran Nuclear Deal". It is my opinion that Moscow had every intention of this. That is why they went along with a deal which is really not a deal but a delaying tactic which as of now has already been broken.
I actually respect Putin for his military mind. I do not on his human rights in his own country. But that at this point is not the topic. He had his Olympics which I did not watch one minute of due to his human rights record in Russia and then invades Crimea in order to secure his military naval bases in Ukraine as he see's Ukraine moving towards the EU. He, President or is it Prime Minister this year stops the United States and the International community from taking out the assad regime due to it's nuclear arsenal. And my favorite of all time was the luncheon toast at the 70 Th anniversary of the United Nations, after meeting with President B. Obama, and within days moves his military into Syria.
That was then this is now. The reason why your aircraft was hit over syria or Turkey was not Turkey but NATO. This is my thoughts. Since for the past few years Russia has been sending the bombers to the Channel near the United Kingdom and even the West Coast of the United States. Russia even threatened to send there bombers to Vietnam, Argentina and Cuba. It was when you send you would send your bombers to be based in Cuba. That within weeks the United States and Cuba started to talk about new relations. But back to you bombers coming close or even crossing air space. You Russia did it for reasons that you were upset with International sanctions on your invasion of Ukraine. So you started to play games. Well if you did fly into Turkey airspace. It was not only Turkey the hit the plane it was NATO. Unfortunately one of the crew members did not make it and you have my true condolences over this tragic event.
But now we The United States of America have to move forward first in Geneva on Friday. Were the US, UN and Russia will meet on topic Syria. And again next week of December 14th when Secretary Kerry arrives in Moscow to meet on Ukraine and Syria. My feeling are that we have no other choice but to communicate to build a better relationship from where we are today.
